Shameless Plug

So, many people have mentioned how much they like my wedding pictures. I wilwould like to say, that although I will admit that I was stunningly gorgeous that day, I had the help of several experienced, well trained, almost professionals. Thank you Mary for the amazing hairstyling genious, thank you Shara for my beautiful make-up - you managed to make me look much more stunning than I do, and also I'd like to thank my friend Sheree (she actually is a professional) for the lovely pictures. She did a great job working with everyone in the wedding party and she got some great shots. So here is my plug for her photography services. You can go to her website at www.shereeflickphotography.com and see additional photos of the wedding.
PS. None of the above mentioned people paid me for recommending their services, I just really like them. (And if they would like to pay me, I would be more than willing to accept it!

Chicago!!!

So I haven't written for a week or so because I've been pretty busy. I left early Sunday morning for Chicago to attend a 4 day conference for Human Resources Professionals. I'm a memeber of SHRM and this was their annual conference. I was lucky enough to meet up with my friend Melissa - although I'll have to post her picture later. Anyway, I love Chicago and I'd forgotten all the cool things there are to do there.
I ate some yummy Chicago deep dish pizza (the pizza is made in reverse order and the sauce goes on top),

visited Navy Pier
, and went to a Lionel Richie concert!

Despite not really knowing what he sings, I went and enjoyed myself tremendously. And for those of you who are still wondering what he sings, try "Dancing on the Ceiling" "Brick House" "Smooth Alligator" "Three times a Lady" and much much more. I've now become a fan.

PS. the concert ticket was included with my admission to the conference - otherwise I most likely would not have gone for anyone thinking I'm a bit of a nerd.

Pictures are here!!!!

Pictures are here!!!!!

So many have requested to see pictures from our wedding and I finally have some to post. I've been having fun doing my own editing and adding little effects to some of the pictures so I haven't wanted to show any until now. I'm still working on this, but here is a random sampling of some pictures from the happy day.

Wedding Bliss

After an encouraging response to my first post from my supportive friends, my confidence has boosted and I will attempt my second entry. I realize that most normal people don't feel the need to post something everyday which has lead me to believe 2 things. 1. I'm not normal 2. I don't have a life. People have requested to see pictures from my wedding am I am happy to oblige only I don't have them back yet. I should be getting them soon so I will post as many as I can, but for now, I will post only what was taken on my digital camera by some random stranger walking around the MN reception.

This was the most amazing pink polka dot cake ever. Who says that pink polka dots aren't good for weddings?!
It's a shame it had to be cut.We were really tired after doing 2 receptions 2 weeks in a row. We finally found some time to put our feet up. (You can't see it very well, but I'm wearing pink polka dot shoes!)

Oh, and I can't forget a special moment from the NV reception when Alber's friend was willing to sacrifice his life so that I would have lights and tulle hanging from the ceiling. The church didn't have a ladder that reached the ceiling of the gym so they brought in an extension ladder and leaned it up against a 12" beam going across the center of the room. Then around 5 people held the ladder at the base to keep this guy from falling to his death. Scary!!! But the end result was beautiful! (I'll have to post pictures of that later when I get all my pictures back. For now, I'll post the heroic efforts of our friend.

It was the best pink polka dot wedding ever! I loved both receptions and had a lot of support and help from friends and family. Maybe I'll post some honeymoon pictures next, but I should probably get to work doing something else. I hope you enjoy the pictures because it took me like 30 mins to figure out how to load them... I'm still learning!

The Big Leap

Well, this is it, my first blog post. I'll try not to make this your boring traditional first post, but it is harder to get started than I thought. I enjoy reading all of my friend's blogs that I wanted to get in on the action. (Not that I think anyone will actually read this.) Mostly I'm just jealous that everyone else appears to have exciting stories and exciting lives and amazingly enough, they are able to capture all of those moments on film (aka digital memory card) and share it with the world. I actually thought that you needed to have children to start a blog because what else would you post? After reading some of my friend's blogs (single and childless) I decided to take the leap and join the blogging community. So in an attempt to make my not-so-interesting life a little more interesting I pledge my best to this virtual world and promise to carry a camera with me at all times in order to capture all of life's not-so-meaningful moments. The meaningful ones can be read on my friends who have already procreated blogs. We'll see how this looks and if I actually end up sharing my website with anyone! Thank you all who made it to the end of this post without falling asleep. My quest begins for "blogworthy" events to fill this page.
