It's become a countdown.
So I was at the doctor yesterday. Totally minding my own business.
Enjoying the nice posters in the exam room warning women about domestic abuse.
Seriously, there are at least 15 different posters with cards and pamphlets for people to call crisis centers.
Obviously, if you're pregnant, you've been abused.
I took some extra cards to pass around to pregnant people at the grocery store. I figured I could do my part to help out.
Anyways, so I was sitting on the table. Fully clothed just so you know - it wasn't one of THOSE visits.
I'd hate for you to form the wrong mental image of me at the doctor.
My doctor was saying something... I wasn't really paying attention since I was so engrossed in the posters.
Then she said, "Third Trimester"
Come again?
So I mentally did a quick count. "Tri" means 3 right? "Third" means 3 right? So that's the same as saying 3rd of 3-mesters.
As in the last one.
As in, the downhill portion of the gestation period.
As in, I have less months left than total months pregnant.
As in, ready or not, here she comes.
As in, I'd better have my house ready.
As in, this is totally ridiculous since I haven't even bought maternity clothes yet.
As in, your life is almost over, I hope you've had fun because from here on out be prepared to lose all independence and freedom.
I could go on and on.
The countdown has begun.
